Happy Jayson Month!

February is Jayson month.

There's Valentine's Day and then shortly thereafter is his birthday, so I think about him an awful lot during this month.

I mean, I think about him an awful lot anyway, but in February it's even more.

So, I thought I'd write a little post about him. I feel like since this is my blog you guys get to know me, but I think you should get to know more about the real Jayson.
And so, here are some random tidbits about Jayson.

Jayson is so handsome. I know you guys already know that, but it just had to be said. I never in my wildest dreams imagined that I would marry a red head. It's not that I was against that sort of thing, it's just that I never really thought about it. It's one of those things that turned about better than anything I had ever planned. I honestly wouldn't have it any other way. I just love that wavy red head of hair and those bushy red side burns. And those freckles! I love how they just pop out on his nose and cheeks in the Summertime.

Jayson is a talker. That's no surprise to those of you who know him. It's always been one of my favorite things about him. I remember after our first date I couldn't stop thinking about how much I loved to just talk to him.

Jayson LOVES to bake. He also has the biggest sweet tooth ever. (Remember when our kitchen was the size of a closet?) He also reads recipe books. Like, all of the time. When he does this on fast Sunday it makes me want to poke him in the eye.

Jayson has about a billion ambitions. He is interested in SO many things and I love that about him. His latest  thing is that he wants to learn to weld, which I think would actually be pretty fantastic.

I have a story to illustrate the curious part of his personality. So, the other day we were playing Disney Trivia 2 and one of the questions was how much it had cost to build Disneyland. Jayson totally knew the answer. How? Because he had looked up the history of Disneyland when we were there. Because he does that sort of thing. All of the time. Right after this his sister was like, "When we get to Disneyland everyone is so excited to feel the magic and ride the rides and Jayson's all like, 'hmm..I wonder what the history of Disneyland is...". Yep.

Jayson is also one of those people that are really good at almost anything they try.

Jayson absolutely loves to water ski. He's getting pretty good at it too. A few weeks after we started dating I got to go with him and his family to Bear Lake and I thought he looked mighty fine on that ski. For the record, that was also when I realized that I loved him and I told him so. After he told me. So, it was very fitting that he proposed to me on our way to another Bear Lake trip later that Summer. Apparently you are also getting a history of our relationship with this post. It's your lucky day!

Jayson has more faith in the Savior than almost anyone I know. This is also one of my very favorite things about him.

He loves little kids. He told me that before he met me he thought more about his kids than his future wife. (Thanks, dear.) I forgive him though because he looks quite handsome with a baby, am I right?

Also, please observe the farmer's tan line in the above picture. He tans pretty well for a red head. I've always thought that was strange.

Hiking is another one of his favorite things.

Another one of my favorite things about him is that he truly believes that he can do anything. Not in a full-of -himself way, but in a really wonderful and confident way.

Jayson is so goofy. I need to be married to someone goofy because I'm the kookiest. Really, it's true.

In most respects Jayson is a very manly sort of man. He's not super romantic (he tries though and he gets better and better all of the time), he loves meat, he's good at lifting things, he likes to fix things/work with his hands, etc.

But, he also cries more than the typical man does in movies. We saw Wreck it Ralph over the weekend and he cried during it. Twice.

Jayson is my rock and I'm forever grateful to him for putting up with my crazy self. I love that he lets me be me. I love that we love to talk, laugh, and just be together. I love that he's so helpful. He's my very best friend and I am one lucky girl to be able to married to him.
