Not the kind of cabin fever where you are sick of being inside.
The kind where you can't wait for a cabin to be finished!
If there is such a kind.
I mean, there is now.
About six years ago (has is really been that long?!) my Daddy bought himself a nice piece of land. I was SO thrilled for him because that has always been one of his greatest dreams.
And he got some land with a view!
Isn't it so lovely?! And, please note, that is an Osprey next on the top of that pole. She comes back every year to lay/hatch her babies. It's pretty much the coolest thing ever.
One of his other greatest dreams is to build a cabin on said land. And you guys..he's doing it!!! His dreams are becoming real life.
It has already been at least a year in the making and it may take a couple more to finish it, because he's building the whole blasted thing himself, of course but it's going to be AMAZING. My dad is the coolest. Seriously.
We were lucky enough to go up to his property over Memorial weekend and spend time with him, Justie, cousin/brother (I know, that doesn't make any sense) Steve, and cousin Austin. Andrew, a family friend also came up! And a whole lot of dogs.

| Here she is! The cabin. Good thing the garage is almost done. Priorities, you guys. |
| It took a little bit of warming up, but now Camo and Ruby are pup friends. |
| I know it's sideways. I'm just too lazy to fix it at the moment. |
| Just because I accidentally caught Andrew making a funny face. |
| Meet Pin Willie |
| The Osprey! |
| So many dogs. They were all delightful. And we were SO happy because not a single one fought with another. It was a great Christmas miracle of sorts. We were especially proud of Miss Ruby, who is doing SO much better around other dogs than she used to. She didn't snap at any of them! |
| I love the pretty cactus flowers we get up there. |
| The guys doing some archery practice. |
| Ruby is on a lizard hunt. This girl had the time of her life chasing lizards and running around the property all crazy-like. |
| Family picture. Photobomb by Camo. |
| Because this is hilarious. |
| They put the big beam in place! |
| Miss ruby was so tired that by the last day she fell asleep in my arms like a little baby. She generally prefers the ground to my lap, so this was the sweetest of things. |
| And we found this, which was fairly gross, but also cool. |
| Let it be known that my dad has had this jeep since he was 17. It actually still runs and drives and all that jazz. And holds ropes and such. |
| Steve, Jayson, and my dad, just putting up some walls. No big deal. |
Hehe.
Don't worry, I promise this isn't where we go to the bathroom. |
I already have so many great memories up here and I know that it's going to be a special place for our family. The property is the best. Being up there makes my heart happy. Keep chasing your dreams, Dad. I'm liking it!
