Dear Jane Month #2

Jane,
I can't believe you're two months old already! What?!
I have to say though, I am completely in love with 2 months.

My all time favorite thing is that you're smiling and cooing now. It makes me so happy and I never ever get tired of it. You save most of your smiles for me, which is ok by me.:) The little guy is also pretty good at making you smile and he just adores you. Only a hand full of people have seen them in person so far, but, but you're getting more generous with them and it's so fun to see people's faces light up when they finally get to see one! Last night you kept smiling while daddy kissed your cheeks and it was the most precious thing.

It turns out that you're on the fussy side as far as babies go, but you know what? It doesn't even matter. And it's not entirely your fault, it is due to acid refulx and the fact that you get trapped gas all of the time. You are having more and more happy times though, which is great. You continue to hate being in your carseat, but now you don't cry every time you're in it, just most of the time. But, it's a start! You're also not the best sleeper, although you are going for 4 1/2 to 5 hour stretches at night now, which is so wonderful. You're a pretty light sleeper, so you don't nap well because our house it not the most quiet during the day due to a certain little boy. You also like to fight falling asleep. I don't know if this is on purpose or if it's more that you just don't know exactly how to fall asleep (I think this is probably more likely), but it happens just the same. You also have a rather excellent scowl.

It has been sooo much fun to see your personality come out more and more. You are a baby who knows what she wants. You continue to be stubborn, but this makes you strong. You can basically hold your head up by yourself (we still help, just incase!) and you have an iron grip. You are SOO curious. You LOVE to look around at things. Your favorite thing is to lay down, wiggle your arms and feet, and look around at anything and everything. You especially like it if we are nearby so that you can tell us all about what you're looking at.

You seem to recognize us more and more, which is also really fun to see.

You have a rock star immune system. Last month our whole family had the stomach flu and this past week the Little Guy has had croup, which is just about the saddest thing ever, and thus far you have remained well both times.

You continue to be really great at getting out of your swaddle. You somehow even manage to get one arm out of those velcro ones.

Your hair is getting longer and it's staying dark. Your eyes are getting bigger and turning more blue. We think you're just about the prettiest baby that we ever did see. I personally think you look super Scandinavian.

You constantly have lint in your hands. We're pretty sure it's because you love to ball your hands up and make fists, especially when you're trying to get out of a swaddle.

You still love your baths. I ran your hands under warm water this morning to get the lint out of them and you absolutely LOVED it. Hopefully this means you will love swimming one day, because that would be stupendous.

You're a good size, but a little on the smaller side. Last month you were about 50th percentile for head, weight, and height. This time around you are in the 25th for weight, just below 10th for length, and just below 50th for head size. I was concerned that the numbers had gone down, but the doctor said the difference between 50th and the lower numbers in height and length is so small that it's really not concerning. You're a healthy girl!

It's so fun to watch your daddy kiss you goodbye in the morning, greet you when he comes home. He just completely adores you.

I never tire of seeing your pretty face, greeting you with kisses when you wake up, snuggling you, or watching you smile and wiggle, or that disgruntled look you always get when we're changing your clothes.

You've decided you kind of like standing. You keep using your legs to push you into a standing position. I don't know if that's your intent so much as you just want to push your legs, but there you have it. You've also decided that working your abs is fun, you're constantly straightening both legs and then lifting them perpendicular to your body.

You're a beautiful girl with some spunk. We are truly overwhelmed with gratitude that you get to be a part of our family. You complete us in a way that no one else could. We love you like crazy. Sometimes we're still just in awe that you're actually our daughter. We have no idea how we got so lucky.

This is one of my favorite pictures ever.

She LOVES to fall asleep like this. Little Weirdy.

Her face!

This was your first outing! We went to the zoo and you basically slept the whole time, except for when you woke up to eat and then spit half of your bottle back up, so it went pretty well! Here you are sleeping in the baby wearing wrap.

And here you are asleep again in the stroller. That hat! It kills me. It's just the cutest.

You often look like this when you fall asleep, mouth half open.

The next three pictures were from your first day at church. You weren't the happiest that morning, so we actually only made it to young women's.

Your scowl is pretty stinkin' cute.

You have decided that Grandpa Todd is basically your favorite. You're always way more snugly and calm with him than anyone else.

This!

One arm out of the swaddle. Always.

The Little Guy was just showing your some of your Easter presents.

You in your Easter dress! We actually made it through all of church that day. Score!

Your cousins love you, especially Jayden (bottom). She seriously follows me around during family get togethers saying, "baby! baby!" and wanting to see and touch you. She will make such a great big sister in July! We're super excited for you to have a cousin just five months younger than you. I'm sure you'll be great buds.

Seriously...those eyes! You could melt anyone's heart.

Be still my heart.

You are always falling to sleep on me like this, one leg hanging off. It cracks me up. I love to just lay on the couch and snuggle you. It's really just the best.

And next we have the line up of pictures from the day you turned 2 months old.I feel like these pictures really capture the many sides of your personality.

You make this face ALL of the time.

Your limbs are blurry in almost all of the full-body pictures I took of you. You're always wiggling!

This is possibly my favorite picture of you of all time.
